Located 16 Kms from Kaza at a height of 14500 feet (4420 meters) is this remote and incredibly scenic village which is famous for presence of large number of marine animal’s fossils around the area and sightings of the elusive snow leopard. Langza is a must visit place for tourists visiting Spiti Valley. The village is guarded by a towering statue of Lord Buddha and is surrounded on all sides by snow-capped mountains. There is a temple near the Buddha statue that is believed to be around 500 years old. For travelers keen to stay here and explore the area for fossils there are areas the locals can direct you to where there are good chances to find fossils. The night sky in Langza is unbelievable as it beams with millions of stars at night.

There are comfortable home stays available for travelers. The best time to visit Langza is from mid-May to end September. The main crops that are grown by the locals here are potatoes, barley and sweet peas. As there is no rain here the main source of water is the glacial streams. At night you can see the milky way with naked eye on a clear night. If you are a photography enthusiast then you will have the best opportunity for night photography here in Langza.
